There s a gamut between pure matte papers and pure gloss papers. The matte coating provides a smoother presentation than an uncoated sheet and softer than the appearance of a glossy. Matte paper has a light coating that provides a boost to the contrast to images but results in little glare. It can enhance text without compromising the final image.

Because there s no coating the paper absorbs the ink quickly and there is no reflective finish to brighten the color. It is important to note that silk matte can make colors appear dull. Inks absorb more into the paper which softens the dot for a less intense image. Its dependable performance ensures a trouble free run so you can focus on creating a superior printed piece.

If you are looking for finer details lustre is a better option than matte. These papers boast features of both matte and glossy finishes. Luster pearl silk and semi gloss papers all fall somewhere in between the two extremes. If you prefer to have vivid colors we suggest choosing matte coating or a coating that will enhance colors like semi gloss or matte.
