After you have rearranged the box spring part place the mattress back on and test for squeaks.
Your box spring may turn out to be impressively stubborn and refuse to stop squeaking despite your best efforts.
Once you do that go ahead and place back the mattress on the bed and test for squeaks.
First thing to do is remove the mattress and rearrange the box spring by rotating it 180 degrees.
To fix it you merely need to provide padding or grease to the area where the metal is rubbing awkwardly.
